Javid Hasanli was born in 1992 in Baku, Azerbaijan. He currently lives and continues his creative work in the same city. His work is built upon abstract themes such as emotion and thought. He believes that the right question is more valuable than the right answer; while a question initiates movement, an answer brings it to an end. Consequently, questions always stand at the heart of his creativity.
He explores his themes within the framework of an individual's dialogues with space, society, and the self. For him, the concept of "human" is not a fragmented version of "I, he, or others," but the silhouette of a unified being. For this reason, small human figures depicted in vast spaces emerge as a constant element in his compositions. His source of inspiration is everything that provokes a question in his mind: outer space, romanticism, existential philosophy, social relations, and nature.
His own existence acts as a filter for comprehending what he sees, hears, and feels. Therefore, his work inevitably reflects his own perspective on these matters. Overall, his art serves first himself, then art itself, and finally society—because asking questions is his personal reason for being. His objective is to make the viewer contemplate these questions.
His color palette is broad and vibrant; forms often flow and melt, while at other times, they confront each other with sharp contrasts. Within this visual language, each composition chooses its own style. His creativity wanders among various movements of modernism. His primary technique is oil on canvas.
